Details on events being held.

The apple was chosen as our Challenge as it is one of the symbols representing the Southern Tier and, of course, the "Big Apple."

We look forward to seeing all the interpretations of the "Apple" pictured to the left.

Hooked Rug Museum of North America

Hugh and Suzanne Conrod have been working to create the Hooked Rug Museum of North America (HRMNA). This Museum will relate the heritage of rug hooking as North America's oldest, indignous, art form. The unique Cheticamp style of rug hooking will be on display during the exhibit.

Historical Patterns and Tools Display

Kathleen Herbert will be displaying some of the old patterns and rug hooking equipment she has collected. The display will be viewable throughout the exhibit.

Vicki's Corner Clinic

Have you hit a snag on your rug? Are you stumped for a color plan? Is something wrong with your piece, but you are not sure what it is? Have a question about dyeing wool? Bring your problem to Vicki's Corner Clinic to get help.

The clinic will be staffed with certified McGown teachers who will help you solve your problems. It will be open every day of the exhibit and is free.

Friday Wine and Cheese Party and Lecture

Jane McGown Flynn has been asked to be the speaker. She will talk about "The Tradition Continues...."

Saturday Banquet

The banquet will start with a social hour at 6:00 PM followed by the meal at 7:00 PM. The menu will include soup, salad, entree and a dessert. The entree choices include Filet Mignon (cooked medium rare), Chicken Picatta, Orange Roughy or a chef's choice Vegetarian.

Drawings for raffle prizes will be held. Also, Janet Ottman, local historian, will give a talk and slide show about the local carousels that make us the "Carousel Capital of the World." An exciting and full evening of fun.

Sunday National Guild Meeting

The National Guild Meeting will be held Sunday morning around 9:00 AM. It is planned that the Owego Treadway Inn will offer breakfast in the main dining room that morning for the convenience of everyone planning to attend the meeting.

For those that want to eat after the meeting, a Sunday Brunch will be offered until about 2:00 PM.
